Mr. Bug Goes to Washington

Dec 14, 2006 21:04

Ambush Bug has just been thrown out of a the first informal "meet and greet," of the Ross administration. Inside there is music, champagne, and a lot of heated debate in polite terms.

Outside, there's a lot of men with guns and dark suits knocking out other men in better quality dark suits at a rapid clip.

mr. bug goes to washington, sarge steel, mr. bones, ambush bug, black lightning, sue dibny, hotshot

She on the floor. Damn dress and heels. Someday, Dinah has to show her how to maneuver in these things.

She sees the shorting on the weapons. If these guys were not pre-programmed, they likely would have noticed. As it stands, they are staring at Ambush Bug.

She ducks and covers.

Sarge cracks his metal fist into the jaw of one of the soldiers, trying to knock him cold and steal the machine gun away from him discreetly, while all the flash-banging and Ambush Bugging is going on. If he can do that, he'll duck and cover out of sight instantly, to make sure he doesn't get caught.

Bones, however, darts toward the apparent floor leader, trying for a leverage move to twist the arm behind his back, one glove off threateningly.

"Take me to your leader, pal."

Ambush Bug is running to each of the soldiers in turn, and shaking them by the shoulders. "She'll eat your brains! Protect your brains!"

To emphasize his point, he attempts to shove each of the soldiers under cover, inflicting head injuries in the process.

"Cheeks! That one's too far away! Save his brains!" Ambush Bug hurls his sidekick with surprising accuracy at one of the more distant soldier's skull.

Secret Service are trying to push him back as the chaos unfolds ... and for the most part, he relents. Still ... no reason he can't give lend an unseen hand.

Communications are fried ... those holding guns still in for a nasty shock.

He keeps his jaw gritted shut. This takes fine control ... concentration.

The guns fill with an electric charge ... not enough to seriously hurt anyone, but enough to cuase some pain.

The soldiers are stunned, but the electrical shock that Sarge can feel through his hand is what seems to do something at last. the soldier with the arm behind his back shakes himself out of it.

"Who? What?" then. "Sir, you are assaulting a member of the United States Armed Services! Step down immediately!"

And while this was happening, Sue was getting out of Dodge.

Phones? Nope, fried - land line, cell, and com. THAT should get some attention up on the moon shortly. Outside? The place was crawling with goons. Only way to go from here is up and hope that whoever was coming up behind her was friendly, because this hallway lacked places to hide.

Bones' response is in a wry, Lennie-Briscoe tone.

"I outrank you, soldier. You've been holding the Vice President and a good chunk of his cabinet hostage. I'm pretty sure that's a court-martial."

Sarge is shaking his hand, ducked behind a bunch of fake plants, on one knee and grasping the machine gun.

Veep finally made a move. Looks like it might've gotten 'em their boys back.

Trouble still ain't over with, though.

Ambush Bug pats one of the soldiers on the back. "Your brains are safe now, I scared off the ghost."

Trevor lowers his head into his hands behind the table where he's playing media sheep.

Heaven help us. The Bug's gonna get credit for this one, isn't he?

Yup.

The soldier Steel has, who is young and now showing his age, is stunned.

"Sir, the last thing I remember, sir was being at the Pentagon on security watch at 1300 hours."

His compatriots are equally stunned and lowering their weapons as Bones' people start piling in the room.

"Sir," the head of Bones' ace in the hole squad reports. "There was some interference - electronic in nature, coming from the upstairs!"

"Who is going to be able to leave here."

There's a guy in camo, There's a gun. There's Sue Dibny being held hostage.

To her credit, she almost looks either bored or annoyed.

Steel was already on his way to the communications room to check on whoever was running the PA.

This puts him off to the side of this chump. Setting up a clean head shot.

Waiting for Bones to give him the signal.

Which Bones doesn't give, as yet. He turns the soldier loose, tightening up his glove again, as the situation has ebbed from a siege to a desperate moron.

"You got a manifesto, pal, or are you just a dumb cluck trying to play Robin Hood for himself?"
