A matride' dressed and groomed in the most exacting of fashions offers Selina a slight bow as she enters. The trill of classical piano lilts in the air as smartly dressed waiters bearing silver trays make their way agilely among the opulent tables and expensive decor.
"Good afternoon Miss, and welcome to L'Escalier." chimes the matride' warmly.
"Thank you." Selina pauses, smiling at him, "I was wondering if there were any tables open for lunch?" As she asks, she moves a little bit closer to him.
A look of regret appears on the man's face. "Ah, I'm quite sorry Miss. I'm afraid our tables are quite booked."
He looks quickly through the leather bound appointment book that rests on a brass and dark wood podium. When he looks up, his expression is deeply apologetic.
"Our next table won’t be available for a few hours. Would Miss like to make a reservation for four o'clock?"
Selina puts on a faintly pouty but thoughtful face, bringing the hand with the ring on it up toward her lips as she considers four o'clock. That is quite a long time from now, considering she's hungry right now.
"Mmmm. I don't think that will be needed." The pouty expression turns into a smile, beaming at him, "Thank you for looking, however." To be honest, she's not /that/ put out about it. There are other places to eat, after all.

Selina pauses thinking about that.
"I think you will have some time before that's a worry."

"I do not consider the matter a subject of concern. It is a matter of tradition.
As Ibn's mother-to-be, you and I will be sisters of a kind."
The implications are subtle but they are there.
Woe betide he who threatens the one that is counted as family by the Demon's Head.

There is a bit of bristling at the idea she might be considered family but she's not out and out rejecting the idea, either.
