No invasion, but there's pie

The heroes continue to arrive and partake in the Thanksgiving feast, with varying degrees of relief that the "alien invasion" was merely a ruse.

Bart's there, allright - and extra-hungry, having spent hours at super-speed just recently helping to partially reconstruct the Alcatraz facility to hold the escaped supervillains his Titan team-mates were subduing.

Even the normally sleep-inducing turkey can't slow him down.

"I still think they should have simply invited us," grumbles Starfire, adding more stuffing to her plate.

"I think J'onn's time working with Blue Beetle and Booster Gold warped his sense of humor a little. But still, it's kinda funny."

"A false alarm is not funny," she states firmly, "but this is good food."

[kidflash2]

"The whole premise of Halloween is based on scaring people a little - not to mention the whole horror movie industry. People like to be scared sometimes, I guess - gets the adrenalin going."

[starfire_kory]

"In sport, yes, I can understand that. But to pretend an invasion?" She shudders. "I found it in poor taste. Unlike the food."

"Well, I thought it was funny.."

She smiles at him. "I know. I don't have a sense of humor, as humans define it. But you are pleased at the surprise?"

"Of course!" It's halfway intelligible, despite the mouthful of food.

"Hey, is that pecan pie?" Nightstar appears behind the young speedster. "I love that."

"You have to try some of this. It's some sort of chocolate, strawberry cheesecake thing." Speedy says as she joins the Titans table for dessert.

"Did you say chocolate?"

[speedy_mia]

"Chocolate and strawberry, together."

[mari_grayson]

Nightstar's already hovering above the floor, turning this way and that. "Where did you say it was?"

"On the table over there by the punch. But hurry, the Flash is almost done his main course."

The moment he'd spied that particular dessert, he knew Mar'i would want a slice. Thus, the dutiful boyfriend appears by her side, carrying two plates and two forks, handing one of them to Nightstar. "Managed to save one of these for you," he says, grinning widely.
