The pain is everywhere, but she welcomes it. It means she can feel everything, after days of being unconscious and then waking up and realizing she was strapped down with IV lines and monitor wires on her ... she remembers that initial moment of panic, muffled by the painkillers. There had been an oxygen mask, and the O2 had felt like fire in her throat. Pieter--Mid-Nite--was there when she woke up, explaining what had happened, what Light had done to her ... and slowly over the days she realized what Mid-Nite had done for her.
Her hands are still bandaged, but she can sit upright now. The traditional Thanksgiving feast is going on
elsewhere in the Watchtower, but she didn't want to join the others.
She hasn't had much luck with Thanksgiving, after all.
