reconnecting is cool
Anybody ever hear of Maxfield Rabbit? It was (using past tense because it seems to be now inactive/defunct, though still offering cds for sale) a very popular club band in L.A. in the mid-late '90s, going to about 2001 or so. There's no current myspace page for it, which is a giveaway that it's no longer active. After their last cd, "Evermore", was released, there was a lot of speculation that they were just a hair away from a recording contract, but - as with many hopeful L.A. bands - that seems to have never materialized (or if it did, they never did anything with it).
Anyway, after I failed to find a myspace profile for the band, I did a "band member" search in myspace music for Julia Albert, the lead singer, with whom I used to chat at performance breaks and used to have a little email correspondence with. She turned up in a new band called Lucky Spider, and wrote back to me! :-) They aren't ready to "go live" yet, so there's no music on the page, and I'm the first "friend" to be added to their profile.
