I feel partially better. There will be no hiring of a housekeeper. I went through the major household chores (kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, dusting, floors, dishes, and general pick up) and split them out. Dishes and general pickup will be done everyday and the rest will be as follows:
Mondays - Laundry
Tuesdays - Bathrooms
Wednesday - Kitchen
Thursdays - Dusting
Fridays - Floors
Saturdays - nothing
Sundays - Menu Planning and Grocery Shopping
I think I can handle that. No my house will not look spectacular all the time but it will be generally cleaner than it is now and my sanity can stay intact. Best of all, doing on task a day literally takes 30 minutes at most (except laundry) and so I can have time to study as well.
I started my toddler rotation (for lack of a better word). Oh how I adore toddlers! And aside from Lunch Lady Doris giving me the 5th degree, it was great. I don't know if that's all this lady does but that's all I've seen her do - deliver lunches. She comes into the toddler room and when she sees me sitting at the lunch table with the kids she asks who I am. The teachers say I'm observing and she states that I can not sit with the kids during mealtime and demands to know why I'm observing. The girls say I'm a student and the HAG gives a disapproving glare and continues to insist I have to just observe. Uh, NO! I turn and tell her that actually I can do everything with the kids except change diapers. The teachers were told this as well - BY THE FUCKING INFANT/TODDLER DIRECTOR SO STFU LUNCH LADY! UGH! Oh, AND the woman has seen me every week for the past 4 weeks in the mobile infant room but did not bother to question me then? Anyway, the kids were great and it is a very different experience. I think I could work with this group - maybe.
