China's stealing my Kada
Yesterday, I headed over to Giann's house for our get-together before ALL OF THEM - yes, I mean all of them... fine 4 out of 6 of us there - are leaving for China. Thank you my dear kada, for opting to spend your summer vacations studying Chinese instead of spending time with me. Booooo... well, actually. I'm quite proud of you guys. Haha. Just don't forget to bring me home pasalubong. INDIVIDUAL PASALUBONGS FROM ALL OF YOU! ;)
We spent the first part of the day playing! Texas Hold-Em style Poker - betting anything we could lay our hands on... from Giann's Florante and Laura comic book (Why does she have that anyway? Haha), to the earrings we wore, to the pillows and stuffed toys on the beds. After that, we wanted to play Monopoly, but some pieces were missing. Booooooo.... Oh well, we settled for Upwords instead.
Soon enough, we got hungry and headed to the kitchen for lunch. Once again, I made new "friends". Andrea, Giann's sister, is now officially Rabee (Rabbit), Dana is my Banana, Kiki is my Kiwi and Giann is my giraffe. With regards to the food, Giann's house has the best vegetables in the world. I loved her carrot soup with that slight buttery taste and her kangkong with that special something!
Afterwards, we headed back upstairs and just lounged around Gi's room. I made Giann tell me her whole life story. ;) From birth to running away six times to the present day. Not long after that, Steph and Babsy arrived. Since they were hungry, we went back downstairs again and I ate some butter cake.
Originally, the plan was to go swimming. But since the heat of the sun was just so unbearable, we just went to Giann's den and talked about the things that happened in the past, with help from Babsy's and Stephie's pics. In line with the usual ICAn custom, no bonding session would be complete without pictures. Vanity strikes again! Haha. Too bad I couldn't go swimming because of two reasons. Oh well. Still, bonding with my kada is priceless. I can't believe we're entering our junior year already!
Me, a Kidnapper?
4:30 - Met up with Ces at National Bookstore. Apparently, the security guard hesitated to let her in because of her bulk sleepover bag. Proves two things about our country: 1. Guards are on guard (at least, when it comes to bags) 2. Guards let paranoia overshadow logical thinking (but then again, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt - we were both wearing all black)
5:00 - Arrived at Jen's house. To our horror, she wasn't there yet. What's more, their helper asked us for our names. Errr... if we tell our names, won't that ruin everything? Sadly, as revealed later in the night, the helper told Jen about two singkit-looking girls wearing all black looking for her. Suspicious, much?
5:30 - Arrived at Krisha's place, which was surprisingly in the same building as Hao's place!!! Thankfully, our victim was actually at the place where we needed her. We then asked their cook to blindfold her (too bad, she was in the bathroom at the time) and when she came out, she wasn't properly dressed yet. Since we didn't want Krisha dearest to look frazzled, we allowed her to change. Aren't we the nicest kidnappers in the world?
5:30-6:45 - While looking for Sel's house, Krisha was being troublesome - kicking, screaming, moaning, talking, singing, wriggling - just to make our lives more difficult. For some weird reason, she guessed who her kidnappers were. On her third try - or possibly during her second guess - she was actually right. Oh well. Haha. Anyway, while trying to pacify Krisha, Ces and I tried gagging her, then, she spit out... The handkerchief's fluttering away in the wind now. Sel's house was so... hidden. It took us nearly one hour to find it. But hey, we found it anyway. This time, we asked her mom to blindfold her. Sel looked so cute coming down the stairs with her tricerotops (Is that how you spell it?). I love Sel and her stuffed toys. Last year, she brought Orlando, or whatever it was called. Either way, the stuffed creature was a lamb last year.
7:00 - We became artists. With face paint and using the seniors' faces as canvasses. Ha! Jen hit my face as she was kicking. Ow. How come I'm always the one who gets hit? Even during Auntee's kidnapping. Who got hit by the pillow? MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
7:15 - We went to kidnap the last senior - Patsy. Haha. Despite the delay, there was still the same thirll in vandalizing her face.
After our wannabeartistphase, we dragged the seniors to Janne's den where we finally took their blindfolds off. Soon enough, we showed them a video presentation recapping the events of the year. Then, we pigged out in Janne's kitchen - tempura, palabok, barbecue, potato salad, pizza, 4 different flavors of ice cream, decandent chocolate cake... YUM! It took us to digest all the food we ate. But the conversation kept me awake and amused. Following this, as usual ICAn custom (where have I heard that before? ;p), we took pictures, pictures, and more pictures!
By 10:00, we settled into Janne's movie house chairs thingie, and watched episodes of House. I'm liking those medical shows now. It's different from shows within the same genre/style - in the sense that there's more wit involved among all characters. But Dr. House is by far the wittiest of the bunch. House was also educational and helps someone maintain a healthier diet. I have now resolved to avoid eating too much pork. I don't want tapeworms growing in brain thankyouverymuch.
We ended up sleeping at around 3AM. Most of us woke up at 7AM, while the seniors were still snuggling with their comforters and dreams. We hung out in Janne's bathroom, plopping ourselves down on the big jaccuzi/jacuzzi (someone spell this for me too!). Due to a sudden burst of inspiration (and nothing to do since I wasn't fully awake yet), I braided Cathy and AA's hair. WHEEEEEEEEE.
When most of us were awake already, we ate breakfast - pancakes, fresh fruit, and leftover pizza. Ha. We're the healthiest people you'll ever meet - if not the healthiest, then the fullest.
Well-off Rocks
Dichi and I aren't rocks, but hey. It sounds cute. You know, Rockwell. Well Rock. Get it? I have a twisted and complicated sense of humor.
Anywaaaaaaaaaaaaay, we watched Nanny McPhee. I now realized why the eldest girl there loked so familiar. She was the younger sister of Eddie in The Prince & Me!
All in all, we just explored Rockwell and the things it had to offer. Most of all, we explored the wonderful world of ice cream. Unlike you dear sister, I'm not feeling guilty at all. Just sleepy. Too much food for two days! >.<
To summarize this very long entry, I love all the people that I spent the past two days with, with all my heart. To the seniors, I'm going to miss you!!! To the ones leaving for China, I'm gonna miss you too!!! To Lex, you're still going to be in the Philippines anyway. Hehe. But I luv yah!
