Super Yummy Funtime!

Something I made up tonight and was so very tasty I needed to share it.

I don't know about you, but rather than toss out the odd 'it got too brown' banana from a bunch when it's not enough to make banana bread, I peel them and toss them into a freezer bag and into the freezer. They're still good for banana bread later or other purposes. Tonight I was hankering for something sweet but didn't want to go to the lengths of making cookies or the like, and wanted something at least vaguely healthy. I'd read an article a while back that said that frozen bananas make for good ice cream just by blending them up. So I figured if they make good fake ice cream, they might make a good fake milkshake. I went digging around on line and found several recipes for such a thing, and then went ahead and did my own.

1 1/2 frozen banana, chopped up into rounds.
1/4 tsp vanilla (guessing here, as I just poured a smidge into the glass)
1 TB peanut butter
1 C (ish) chocolate almond milk

All put into a glass and then gone at for a few minutes with a stick blender.
I do not doubt that you could sub in almost anything along with the bananas. The important part is that the bananas be frozen, and that there be enough liquid to make it blend. With what I put in, it was about the consistency of a Wendy's frosty. And. So. Good.

I'm also betting it would be good with plain milk/almond milk/vanilla soy and maybe some strawberry jam. Or marshmallow fluff and chocolate chips.
