I don't know, someone could reality check me on this one, but I think it was a pretty good deal, all things considered.
There's an Omaha Steaks grand opening going on at the new place in St. Louis Park. I took a look at their normal prices, and the words "Highway Robbery" would suit. Plus we have a lovely family butchery nearby (which we do use, and probably won't use any less even with what we bought, so don't whinge at me about not supporting local business).
But for the grand opening, they're having a pretty good sale! I suggest the "welcome package" It goes for $59.99, which is a lot for meat, but you get:
4 bacon wrapped filet mignon
4 steaks
4 boneless pork chops
4 burgers
8 'gourmet franks'
10 potatoes au gratin
Plus because its over $25, you get 8 more burgers free.
And we got a package of beef jerky since we were one of the first 500 people, and I don't think that you would miss out on this even if you went tomorrow.
I paid the extra ten bucks to get the 'special reserve' steaks, which were visibly nicer, plus aged longer.
So yeah. Try it out (if you like meat that is). It's in that new shopping area in St. Louis Park, tucked down the covered sidewalk area where it's the only shop currently open.
