Oh, Happy Dance of Murderous Joy! I'm free! I'm free!
Monday, I submitted the final academic paper I shall (hopefully) ever write. Now I'm "unofficially" graduated! Yay! *happy dance of murderous joy* As Mater (of Disney's CARS) would say, "I'm happier than a tornado in a trailer park!"
Yesterday was my celebratory "'F' me -- I cleared it!" vacation day. I didn't even turn the computer on all day. I checked email through the cell phone but otherwise, I slept late and took a little "me" time to clear my head of the stress from the last several weeks.
Today, it's back to CRIMSON SWAN. Thanks to finals, I'm a little behind schedule in the actual editing but I've been making notes on what needs to be changed and constantly thinking about how to approach certain things. I now have a plan and a schedule so the ball should not only be rolling by the end of today but bouncing off the walls like a cat on fresh kitty-hooch.
My deadline is January so I'll be going from final paper/end of semester zombie to manuscript deadline zombie. After the first of the year, I can return to my normal vampire mode. Until then, however, I have plenty of coffee on hand to fuel the brain. The playlist on iTunes/iPhone has been updated. Cats have been distracted with new toy mice. Mark is at work and friends and family have been warned to either correspond through email only or call/text after 5:00 PM.
Muse has her Writer Motivating Devices polished and ready to go. In fact, she's brandishing a rather scary looking manrikigusari (a traditional Japanese chain weapon with two steel-weights on the ends designed to strike, ensnare or trap an opponent) at the moment. I think that's my cue to get back to work.
Muse: Duh. You're a regular Einstein, aren't you?
J. K.: Shut up, Muse.
Muse: It edits the book or else it gets the club again.
J. K.: Okay, okay...I'm going. Geez... Guess that's all for now, folks. I'll keep you posted as often as Comrade Muse here let's me.
Muse: Более менее говорящ. Больше сочинительства.
J. K.: WTF?
Muse: I said, "Less talking. More writing."
J. K.: Since when do you speak Russian?
Muse: Hello? I'm a goddess. All knowing, all powerful. Not to mention a snazzy dresser.
J. K.: *snort* If you can call a toga "snazzy."
Muse: *smack J. K. with manrikigusari*
J. K.: Ow! Damn it! That hurts!
Muse: Well, you asked for it.
J. K.: Have I told you lately that I hate you?
Muse: Oh, suck it up, Bubba Jane, and get to work.
J. K.: *blows raspberry*
Muse: *twirls manrikigusari* Want another lump to go with that first one?
J. K.: No.
Muse: Then write.
J. K.: Yes, Oh Mighty Evil One. Right away, Your Nefariousness. I live to serve, Oh Most Dispicable Mistress.
Muse: Flattery will get you nowhere. Now write.
J. K.: Fine.
Muse: Say goodbye to the cyberpeople.
J. K.: Goodbye, cyberpeople. See you soon....I hope.
