An Album and Performance to Remember

Here we go again. Another late breaking entry to my journal (not that many people actually read it, and far fewer people know what I'm talking about most of the time. I really should get round to the question of "why" sometime...) and this time it's in the morning instead of around midnight. Yey, I'm actually fully cognitive!

Currently I am drinking squash (you know, that concentrate stuff you add water to), chatting to my girlfriend on MSN and idly sitting here, being really rather useless. I should do something...

Compounding this sense of "do something" is my current cash flow problem. This seems to be getting rather dire; I'm currently switching borrowed money over two bank accounts to make it appear as though I have money coming into (and, in greater sums, going out of) both. Take that, evil banks.

Those who look at that sort of thing may notice the music I'm listening to. It's from Thom Yorke's new solo efforts, "The Eraser" (official website here, which is worth a look for sheer curiosity alone) which is actually quite out there. This said, I like it for all it's quirky synth-ness and the fragile vocals of Thom Yorke which shine through. Those who like that sort of thing will know that Thom is, in actual fact, the lead singer from Radiohead.

End music spiel.

I watched a play, called "Our Country's Good", on the weekend. It was performed at the Tuckwell Amphitheatre, a beautiful venue with quaint brick walls, a slightly raised stage and intimate surroundings fenced by thick green trees.

The performance was by the Deep End Theatre Company, a drama group who recently performed "Son of Man" at the playhouse. They gave a great performance (with some members of the cast showing themselves to be very good actors) and did the play justice. I left after seeing the whole thing very pleased, as were my mother (for whom I bought the tickets, birthday present) nd girlfriend. Needless to say, I'd recommend the experience to others.

Well, now I've written about music and drama, I think I'll leave the rest until another day. There's work to be done and I'm being lazy.
