TV Viewing Last Night: Body of Proof and Primeval: New World

Feb 20, 2013 10:53

I managed to watch the episodes of both Body of Proof and Primeval: New World last night. Well, watched the former as it aired, and taped the latter and then watched it after the former around 11:00 pm or so.

Body of Proof started off this new, third season with a lot of cast changes. All of these changes were explained during the first 10 minutes of the episode, and were handled well. After the events of the second season finale, the episode took place several months later, and made a lot of sense in that context. The episode was really pretty good, introduced the new characters with a good deal of sensibility, gave Dana Delany's Megan Hunt an interesting new protagonist to work with, had a good plot about the serial killings of combat veterans, and a nice cliffhanger for the first of a two-parter. I'm looking forward to the rest of this third season of the series.

Primeval: New World, on the other hand, came to the end of its first season with the second part of the two-part season finale. I'll be blogging this one in depth later on, but suffice it to say the episode had its good moments and its bad moments. The end of the episode made me hope that the show gets renewed for Season Two, as the cliffhanger here was one of those "Oh, dear, I want to know what happens next *now*!" moments.

So, overall, some good television viewing on a Tuesday night.
