Doctor Office and Blood Tests - Weekend Now

Dec 14, 2012 16:19

I just got home from the doctor's office, with a stop off at the DynaCare clinic to have some blood tests done.

The boss showed up around the time that I was taking a late lunch and then heading out to the doctor's office, and he wasn't all that displeased at the work that I did this week, so things may be looking up in that regard.

At the doctor's office, I learned that the results of the CT scan have not come back in yet, but that he wanted the appointment to see how I was doing. I told him about the business with mom in the hospital and the infection, and he told me that I have either a mild case of the flu or a cold, but decided to send me for some blood tests to check my white cell count. However, he did tell me that given mom's condition in the hospital and the infection and the fact that I have a cold/something, that it would be a good idea if I didn't visit her in the hospital for a few day. After leaving his office and heading for the blood lab, I called mom and told her what he said. She agreed with him, and was very disappointed that I wouldn't be coming to see her this weekend, but said that it was for the best. Now, of course, I feel guilty.

The blood tests at the lab was handled with ease and efficiency for a change, though I'll see whether I bruise at the needle point over the next few days, but from the lab I went straight home. My driving foot is still bothering me, something that I'll need to deal with when I go out to the Ottawa west end for tonight's gaming session.

In the meantime, I need to give some thought to what to have for supper, as I'd prefer to cook something for myself before I go out tonight. Pretty tired of restaurant food and hospital food, as folks can well imagine.

I have to say that I'm looking forward to the weekend, though I've got quite a load of laundry to do and all. But one step at a time. Looking forward to gaming this evening.
