One element of that “Golden Age” into which I'd happily immerse myself…”

[Let's see - Sally Ride, AD 1951 - Mary Tamm, AD 1950 - I was born in 1962. This is encouraging. At this rate I'll be outta here in jig time.]

It's a great shame. I rather liked Romana - she always gave Tom's Doctor as good as she got, and Mary Tamm was such a beautiful woman. It's been a rather bad couple of years for Who fandom, what with losing Lis Sladen, Caroline John and Nick Courtney. I'm hoping Katy Manning will manage to live to a ripe old age.

Yes, Classic Who fandom has definitely lost some of the greats this past couple of years, and the loss of Mary Tamm is very sad. I liked Romana Mk 1 as she really did give as good as she got with the TBaker Doctor. It's a shame that she chose to leave the series after one year's worth of episodes, though I have nothing against Lalla Ward's Romana at all.

And Amen to your thoughts about Katy Manning.
