It's been a kind of mundane day so far today, and that suits me just fine.
As part of my birthday present, Kathy, Tom, Angela, and I are going to be going to this year's incarnation of the
RBC Royal Bank Ottawa Bluesfest going on here in the city this evening. Granted that the festival this year isn't really all that much about the blues, having a more electronica feel to it, but...
This evening we'll be seeing the
Tedeschi Trucks Band performing on the Rivers Stage at 9:00 pm. Fronted by husband and wife team Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, both of whom are amazing guitarists, the two founders of are both heavily steeped in the blues tradition, yet open to far-ranging influences including rock, gospel, jazz and World music. I'm really looking forward to the show this evening, and have to say that it should be a good night (as long as my abdomen and bowels behave themselves).
I'll definitely post up about the show, sometime tomorrow on the blog.
