Footcare and Doctor Appointments

Back from seeing the doctor and the footcare appointment. Yes, I went to the doctor, but more on that in a moment.

After leaving work around 12:45 pm, I made it to the Footcare Clinic about ten minutes late, but the footcare specialist was there waiting for me. She did the footcare that was necessary, and was careful with the infected toe and made sure to cut the nail short and tried not to aggravate the toe any more than it needed to be. She told me, after a close examination of the toe, that it doesn't look infected, though it is red and a bit swollen still, and that the infection was obviously dealt with by the antibiotic, but that it will take a bit more time to heal and that I need to keep an eye on it. In the meantime, I need to soak it some more in salt or Epsom salts, preferably twice daily.

After the Footcare appointment, I went out to the nearby Subway to eat lunch, and called the doctor's office to find out if he could fit me in. The regular receptionist and aide was on vacation, but the temp replacement told me to come in as soon as I could, and she'd fit me in. When I got to the doctor's office after eating lunch, I only had to wait for about 15 minutes before he saw me.

After talking with him about what's going on with my stomach, abdomen, and bowels, he decided to get me to do the whole stool culture tests thing, and gave me the kit to take home with me. Needless to say, I suspect he thinks that I've got some sort of infection, perhaps c. difficile, due to the Cephalexin antibiotic that he had me on for the toe infection.

In any event, we'll see where things go with this.

stomach, toe infection, feet, health hut, personal, toe problems, doctor, diarrhea, footcare, abdomen, appointment
