A Mundane Saturday

Jun 24, 2012 08:23

Yesterday, Saturday, was a pretty mundane kind of day.

Fortunately, the weather here in Ottawa on Saturday was more comfortable, with a temperature in the 270C range, far better than the 32+ temperatures we were having for the latter part of the week.

I spent part of my day cleaning up the house a bit, and taking care of some cooking for the week. (Made a large pot of chili for later use, and, breaded some chicken with healthy almond flour for baking during the week, as well as marinating some chicken for use Saturday night for supper.) I managed to get in a bit of reading for the a|state RPG, as I'm working my way through the main rulebook once more as well as an issue of the Mire End Tribune newspaper for the game.

spross dropped by after work, and he and I went over to Chapters and I picked up a couple of anthologies that I've been wanting, The Mammoth Book of Steampunk edited by Sean Wallace, and Going Interstellar edited by Les Johnson & Jack McDevitt. He dropped me off at the house, where I immediately had some tea and a bit of a snack, and then dashed out to pick up my mother for supper for the evening.

Mom and I had supper, since my sister was spending the evening visiting a friend of hers that she hadn't seen in a while, and mom and I had a good meal and some pleasant conversation. I dropped mom off at her place, and then went home to do some laundry, managing to do two loads of laundry and dry and fold one of them. Crawled into bed about 11:45 pm (after taking the last antibiotic for the day), and woke up this morning about 7:30 am. Not a bad night's sleep, for a change.

And yes, as promised, the next post will be about the Friday night gaming session. :)
