Family Doctor Visit

A bit of a personal update.

After lunch today, I developed some minor chest pain and shortness of breath, both of which have persisted into the late afternoon as I type this, but which I associate with part of the healing process from the endoscopy.

I had an appointment to see my family doctor today at 3:15 pm, and felt that I should go to the appointment, which I did. He saw me pretty quickly, and we talked about the chest pain and shortness of breath in light of the endoscopy, and he told me that it could be accounted for in a lot of ways, but that if I've still got it in 24 hours I should go to an Emergency Room at the hospital. (Not likely, given my recent experiences in the hospital.) He had the results from the gastro specialist, and I learned that he had also done biopsies of my esophagus area as well, which might account for some of the "trauma" I'm feeling. I didn't know about the biopsies of the esophagus, although the gasto specialist must have told me but I obviously had some memory loss from the anaesthetic.

The doctor also discussed the various blood tests and the rest of the tests I had taken several weeks ago. The Celiac test came back negative, as did the h pylori one. All the other tests he ran were negative as well.

I also discussed the idea that I want to drop having two doctors (one family doctor and one diabetes doctor), and just have one doctor to take care both my regular medical stuff and the diabetes. He was agreeable to that, though he suggested that I possibly arrange to see the diabetes specialist one every year or so. Thus, I will be discussing this with the diabetes specialist when I see him in April.

In the meantime, the chest pain and the shortness of breath persist. Gonna just go sit back, relax, and maybe read a bit.
