Monday Ramble

Start of another work week. The only real consolation is that next weekend is Labour Day, so I have an extra day off work for the coming weekend. By that time, I'll be seriously thinking about my trip to Paris for work.

In the meantime, another warm and humid day ahead for us here in Ottawa. My knee is bothering me something fierce this morning, and my head feels stuffed up as if I've caught a cold or some such. Oh, joy. The workload is going to be heavy for the next couple of weeks, since I have to clear a lot of stuff off the desk before heading off to Paris.

I gained a pound this week, much to my chagrin, although the fact that I'm not able to exercise properly due to the problems with my left knee means that I'm not all that surprised. I've been keeping the bg (blood glucose) levels down, fortunately, so this is good...but there will be no more croissants in my future - at least until I go to France. :) Hmm, need to remember to pick up some small tomatoes and some celery on my way home from work. [Jotting down note to self]

Other than my knee problems, the weekend was pretty good. I watched some English Premier League football (soccer to North Americans), and watched Arsenal take down Manchester City 1-0. Yes, I am a Gunners fan. :) The Friday night gaming group played Hollow Earth Expedition (you can read about that in this journal entry), and spross ran the second solo session of HEX on me on Sunday, and I had a pretty good time with that. It's nice to get to play the game, even if only in a solo session, so that was good. Listened to a bit of music Sunday night, and found myself falling asleep by about 10:00 pm, so crawled into bed and slept the sleep of the dead until the pain in my knee woke me this morning.

Like I said, a good weekend, but back to a work week now. *sigh*
