I'd guess I'd better not mention I got my copy a week ago from my FLGS in Hamilton, and that there are two other copies sitting on the shelf...

Seriously, are you ordering them online direct in order to save money or to get the books earlier? And is this mostly a Cubicle 7 problem, or something you've noticed in general?
I tend to order the books in order to get them earlier. Supposedly, when one pre-orders an rpg from a company directly, one gets them about a week or so (sometimes two weeks) before they are distributed to retail outlets.
I don't have a lot of experience with this the last two years with other game companies, but this seems to be a real problem with Cubicle 7 the last year or so. Am not a happy camper. :(
As an aside, I was sorely tempted to order the new hardback version of Masks of Nyalothotep from Chaosium's web-page store as part of their 25% off sale. I'm glad I didn't since a few dozen persons who did so had their credit card stolen and many had to cancel their cards or get their credit card companies involved because of fraudulent charges.
