Getting Ready for Friday Night Gaming

Jan 03, 2025 17:59

It has been a somewhat atypical week here in Ottawa for the winter, with a mix of relatively warm weather and rain coupled with what is now colder weather and snow, and about to become...very cold. The temperature hit the -8oC mark today, and is going down to around -17oC or so tonight with frigid temperatures in the forecast for the rest of the weekend. I've been very tired the last couple of days, to be honest, and am feeling a bit under the weather. Most of this has been pain in my shoulder and leg, some abdominal issues, and the issue of the broken tooth that still hasn't seen a dentist. A New Year that isn't starting off well.

I'll be gaming with the Friday night group this evening; the players should be arriving within the next hour or so. The Friday gamers elected to play tonight even though the temperatures promise to take a sharp dip. The players are quite looking forward to gaming this evening, and it will be the first gaming session of 2025 so that's adding to the excitement I feel about gaming tonight.

Not sure what we'll be playing this evening. The Friday night gamers expressed interest in a board game of some sort for tonight to start the new year off, but were also game (no pun intended) to get back to roleplaying as well. Rather continue on with the Rivers of London: The Roleplaying Game tonight, they want to take a break from that game and go back to playing The Troubleshooters RPG. I'm quite looking forward to this evening, regardless of whether we play a board game (or two) or get back into roleplaying stuff. All of the players are looking forward to playing in the game as well. Should be a fun evening.

In the meantime, I need to go upstairs and make something very light, but hot, for supper.

Have a good evening, folks. :)
