There's good news, and bad news. The good news is that the days start to get longer as of today! The bad news is that it's been a somewhat snowy, relatively mild winter so far, so I suspect this year that winter is just getting started on us, and there's going to be a lot snow and cold temperatures as the year ends and we get into the depths of winter in the new year1. But one takes the good with the bad. :)
In the meantime, Ottawa and the surrounding area is embracing a bout of bitterly cold weather at the moment with daytime temperatures reaching -12oC but feeling more like -20oC. And we won't talk about the overnight temperatures. Brrrr!! The weather will warm up for a bit, so there may be snow for Christmas, but that remains to be seen.
