RPGaDay2024 in August - August 28th: Gadget
We continue on today with #RPGaDay2024 for August.
Day 28 - Great Gamer Gadget
A lot of the gadgets for roleplaying games are aimed at the Gamemaster for running games on-line these days. However, when it comes down to it, gaming gadgets for playing in a face-to-face are few and far between, and many of them are electronic. Some would argue that the best gaming gadget these days is the tablet, which provides easy access to PDFs and online versions of rpg books, digital character sheets, sounds and music, and of course the internet. However, for me personally the two best gaming gadgets are easy.
First off, there's the dice tray. I purchased a lovely wooden, 10" dice tray years ago at a GenCon from Koplow Games (which they still sell, though not on-line), and which I use at the gaming table and when I go to the local gaming convention. Good for storing dice of various types, as well as being a nice, large rolling surface for player to use.
The second neat gamer gadget is the All Rolled Up dice tray. Simple and easy to assemble, folds up quite nicely and stores easily as well. It sits on the gaming table, lets you roll your dice in front of the other players, and marshals and corrals the dice so they don't fall on the floor or on different surfaces, and is just a simple, great gamer tool.
