We continue on today with #RPGaDay2024 for August.
Day 14 - Compelling Characters
Once again, this is a prompt for the day that can be interpreted in a variety of ways. So...
Personally, compelling characters (and we're talking player characters here obviously) in roleplaying games tend to be very much about the player. While the game numbers can be important, it's what the player brings to the role of the character that makes a character compelling. The personality and background write-ups that a player does for their character can make the player character interesting and fascinating needless to say, but when it comes right down to it, amazing and creative players are what make characters compelling in every rpg that I've ever run.
Then again, some players have *it*, and some players don't. But that's sort of like real life.
And there you have it, my thoughts on this fourteenth day of #RPGaDay for August, 2024.
Comments, thoughts, questions, etc. are all welcome, of course. :)
