Happy 4th of July!
I would like to wish all the folks in the United States of America, and all of my American LJ friends a very Happy Independence Day this Fourth of July.
The United States is still a mess at the moment, and though President Biden has done a lot of things to put the U.S. on the right track, there's still a lot to be done. (Not to mention the issues concerning Biden's health and mental fitness for the job.) The COVID-19 virus and the not-a-pandemic aren't over yet, and the coronavirus variants are striking again (if they've not already) for the summer. However, this day is about enjoying life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and I hope that each of you is doing so today, and every day, in your own way and with your own passion.
I would say to enjoy the fireworks and other 4th of July celebrations, but let's be honest... In this time of the continuing pandemic and the variants of the disease, folks should be taking (personal) precautions and wearing masks to prevent the spread of the disease in large, public gatherings. And remember, alcohol and fireworks (if you're doing them in your backyard or wherever) don't mix. Oh, and do try not to shoot each other and leave the personal firearms at home today.
Be safe, be healthy, and be happy. :)
