RPGaDay2023 in August - August 8th: Character
We continue on today with #RPGaDay2023 for August.
Day 8 - Favourite character
To be honest, I'm not sure how to answer this. So, I guess... As I very rarely get to play in any roleplaying games (unless I do so at conventions), my favourite character that I've played tends to be the one I'm playing at any give time.
That said, in terms of running games, my favourite character has to be Dr. Jason Sagandar. I first created the character for the Universe SF RPG published by SPI back in 1980 or 1981 as an NPC working alongside the player characters. He was a double agent, working for both the Union and the Alliance (I was running the game against a modified version of C.J. Cherryh's universe), but was still committed to the Hippocratic Oath and thus was a very multi-dimensional character. I used Jason as an NPC in several other games that I've run over the decades, the last time for the Rivers of Heaven RPG (you can check him out at the link here), but he never really felt the same to me after the original character. Sadly.
