Well, today has been a bit stressful.
Yesterday, Thursday, I went to the Ottawa General Hospital for a couple of ultrasound procedures. The first was on my left abdominal side, the second one was on the right shoulder and back area.
I received a call from the rheumatologist that I'm seeing about the results of the second ultrasound results. The doctor told me that the ultrasound showed that the tear in the right shoulder muscle is definitely healing, but that I did indeed re-injure the shoulder a couple of weeks ago. The new ultrasound showed that there is new laceration of the muscles in the right shoulder itself, but there was something more worrying. The first indications of the ultrasound is that one of the muscles attached to the rotator cuff is stretched and may well be torn.
The doctor told me that he'd run another couple of tests, likely in December if they can be scheduled, to make sure and would see me again in January. In the meantime, you can all probably guess the doctor's advice on treatment for now.
At least the test results have told me why I'm in so much pain and uncomfortable in the right shoulder.
