It's May 1st. A new month.
First off, Happy May Day (or Beltane, if you prefer)! :)
April was a pretty rough month for the most part, and bad all around, largely due to the sixth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic that continues to ravage the world, the dropping of social and other limitations (notably the masking mandate), and the sheer stupidity of some politicians and other folks in the world. Self-isolation was fine for a certain period of time, and while that's no longer a public safety measure, it put too much strain and stress on a lot of people. The month was also difficult and pretty bad for me personally due to a couple of serious health issues I'm having to deal with, a nasty bug that has hit me (it's NOT COVID-19), as well as the terrible left leg, ankle, and foot pain that just doesn't go away. So I'm kind of glad to see the end of the month and the start of the second quarter of 2022. Though to be honest, the threat of COVID-19 is far from over, and no one really knows when life will return to "normal", whatever that word will mean in the aftermath of the pandemic. Hopefully, May will be a better month all around. ::knock on wood::
Due to the health issues mentioned above, I'm going to spend the day relatively quietly, though there's a few things around the house I need to get done and and the like. Part of the day will be spent lying down (possibly flat on my back) to deal with the the various body aches and pains I've got, and I may read a bit or do some gaming stuff today.
I'll be posting up my book reads for the month sometime tomorrow (the 3rd at the latest), but for now, I'm just glad it's the beginning of May.
