It's March 1st. The start of a new month.
Thank Goddess.
February was a very bad month for me, and that's putting it mildly. Between the health issues I had last month, the death of my mother towards the end of the month after a very difficult period with her, and some of the other stresses I've been dealing with that I've not discussed here in the blog, February was a terrible month in so many ways. I'm not going to go into details about the health issues from last month, as those have been documented pretty much here in my blogs. Yesterday, the 28th of the month, was the straw that seems to have broken my back, as I had an eye biopsy done and the results are...not good. Still digesting that matter, and waiting to hear from a specialist.
The death of my mother was a bad shock near the end of the month, and has left me pretty devastated and alone. The state of her estate is a mess, given her mental health and all at the time of her death, and suffice it to say that there will likely be a lot of time in March spent dealing with those matters. Mom's funeral was yesterday as well, but my sister told me that she felt that the eye biopsy was more important, and that mom would have wanted me to take care of my health first. So I couldn't be in Montreal for the funeral, though I can watch the livestream that was done of the funeral. Still very much in shock about things, and the fact that she's gone.
The weather for February was a very mixed bag pretty much, with some pretty nasty snowfalls and bitterly cold days, but there were days where it was feeling almost like spring was around the corner with relatively mild temperatures. Just a very bizarre weather month. I don't know what's going to happen here in March weather-wise, but it's gotten off to a very snowy start, so we'll see how it all shakes out.
Throw in the COVID-19 pandemic that still continues, now with variant forms of the virus, despite the vaccine rollouts and all, and the virus seems to still be winning. Hopefully, the world won't see another wave of the virus. ::knock on wood:: Then there's the state of the world right now, the most notable event being Russia's invasion of Ukraine and everything surrounding and involved in that, and well...the world is not a pleasant place to live in right now. :(
Yes, there were also a couple of good things that happened in the month, but truthfully, not a month to remember fondly. So bring it on, March! :)
