It's the last day of June, 2021.
And in all honesty, I can't wait for this month to be over.
I'm not going to go into details about everything that's gone down in June and why I'll be happy to see the month in the rear view mirror (all you have to do is read some of the blog entries of the past month to see what's been going on health-wise with me), but it will be good to start looking forward to the month of July. Suffice it to say, I've spent way too much time this month in hospitals or doctor's offices having tests of various sorts, and am just tired (not to mention exhausted by the tests!), but we'll see what July brings in this regard. I am scheduled to have my second COVID-19 vaccine shot next week, so that's good news. I don't have a lot of plans for July, to be honest, at least nothing that comes to mind. Well, other than a bit of reading and hopefully getting back to gaming at some point.
Speaking of COVID-19, the virus continues to be a pandemic, despite the fact that the vaccination process is well under way, as people continue to make not smart (read: stupid) decisions in terms of physical distancing and not wearing face masks and taking measures to prevent the spread of the disease, and several variants (notably the Delta one) wreak havoc all over the world. That, and the fact that I think that governments in various countries and places have loosened the restrictions too soon and don't have means to back up the ones that were still in place and needed to be made. It's no wonder that there is a rise in cases in various countries at the moment, since governments are easing (if not eliminating) restrictions to bring life and the economy back to their countries, but still... The vaccine is not the be-all and end-all cure, folks.
That said, Ottawa and the valley are experiencing the early July heatwave that is typical for this time of year, only a bit earlier. Today is no exception to this, though at least it will be under 30C for the day (hopefully). I'm expecting most of July to be very hot, hopefully with little humidity (but that would be a miracle here), but anyway, Ickk! Just plan to keep as cool as I can. 'Nuff said about that.
As for today, have to go to the hospital for the second-to-last Wednesday batch of blood tests. So that's all I got planned for the day.
