Well, the Kickstarter packages have started to arrive this week.
This despite the Canada Post ongoing postal strike/slowdown despite the Canadian government legislation to get them back to work.
However, that said, the first of the packages from the folks at Fria Ligan/Free League Publishing arrived via DHL courier service yesterday. I was pretty annoyed that I had to pay a processing fee and a transaction fee on the package due to the shipper's...incompetence, though it may have been due to the current situation with Canada Post and their need to make some money right now. Still, not cool. This package contained the
Forbidden Lands roleplaying game materials from the Kickstarter pledge level that I had.
Forbidden Lands is a post-apocalyptic fantasy rpg with a sandbox setting in which the player characters are not typical fantasy heroes - they're raiders and rogues bent on making their own mark on a cursed world. Lots more to it than that, of course, but really intriguing.
I'm glad that I backed the game, though I was surprised about the books' size. The books are app 10 inches x 7 inches in size, making them atypical, but they do fit rather nicely in hand.
