My brother had the good fortune to meet him a little while ago at the recording of the final scene of Shada, the recovered Dr. Who story now out on DVD. Bro recreated the visual effects for the first three episodes they had all the other filming for and then assisted in the final scene where Tom plays himself as the 4th Doctor for the first time in decades. He did do the voice acting for the three episodes they've animated (although Lalla Ward and he had an agreement not to be in the same room at the same time).
