It is just one more sleep until
CanGames 2017 here in Ottawa.
I'm really looking forward to going to this convention, even though I'm also going to
GenCon 50 in August. It's a chance to meet old friends and acquaintances, chat with new folks and the like, and doing the gaming thing, of course. I'm looking forward to running the two
Coriolis - The Third Horizon, one
Primeval, and one
Tales From the Loop games, naturally, though I do really hope that I actually get some players for the four games.
Once more, please note that the
Tales From the Loop game won't be on Saturday night's schedule for various reasons (notably that I submitted it too late). Here's the write-up on the
Tales From the Loop RPG scenario that I'll be running at the convention:
*****
Summer Break and Killer Birds
Game:
Tales From the Loop RPG
Time: Saturday,7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Number of Players: 4
Description: Summertime in Sweden. Boredom and bliss in equal measure. But something's wrong. It all starts with a talking bird, and soon you're involved in a nefarious plot. Can you solve the Mystery before it's too late? Tales From the Loop is a game of roleplaying in the ‘80s that never was, based on artist Simon Stalenhag’s paintings of Swedish 1980s suburbia, populated by fantastic machines and strange beasts. You play teenagers solving Mysteries connected to the Loop.

My only real concern about the convention isn't so much about walking this year, so much as it is about carrying. The doctor diagnosed me as having a bad case of frozen shoulder in my left arm, and it's making carrying and lifting stuff with that arm extremely painful (among other things). And of course I've got to watch my blood sugars carefully and take my insulin dose at night during the convention, so that bears some more forethought as well. We'll see how things go.
