As noted in some earlier blogs, I have fallen a couple of sessions behind on Friday night game reports, but this blog entry takes care of that. Friday night last (the 5th of February), the Friday night gamers got together and continued to play in their
Chill 3rd Edition RPG campaign. Here are the game session notes. You can read about the previous session of the campaign in this
journal entry. This blog entry is somewhat long, so I've put it behind a cut so that folks who don't want to read any detailed rpg posts don't have to.

March 27th, 2014 (Thursday)
The Thursday morning begins with both Alexandra Scott and Jennifer Upton starting the day doing some research on Hiram Sharkam. Alexandra learns that Hiram Sharkam is of Jewish descent, and while most of the information about him begins back in Europe, he arrived in Canada in 1982. Sharkam has several degrees in business, and was a shoe-in for a job with Harmony House when it opened in roughly 1987. He became a member of the Board of Directors in 2001, but appears to have worked as first a lawyer for the operation (a job that he was more than qualified for) and then as a member of the steerage committee. He is unmarried, and most of his family seems to be in Europe. Jennifer, on the other hand, learns a lot more about the man. [She rolls a Colossal Success, flips a Dark Token to Light.] Interpol has a good number of questions they would like to ask the man, whose original name is Hiram Abrahams, in connection with a series of deaths of young people that seems to have followed Sharkam like a rain cloud. The rest of his history adheres to what Alexandra determined, but she learns that he has devoted a lot of time to a woman named Amy Schulman, but all that is available on her seems to be a photo taken some 10 years ago. Doing some further research, Jennifer is able to determine that Amy Schulman lives in the Ottawa area, under the name of Amy Schuyler. She quickly calls Alexandra and Carole to let them know what she's learned, and the three women swap information.
At the Ottawa General, Dr. Jason Harris comes on shift again after a somewhat sleepless night, and goes to visit Amy Schuyler in the Geriatrics wing again. He finds that she is not alone, the dark-haired, green eyed man of the evening before present once more. He notices a change has come over Amy, that she no longer appears to look as old as she did, though he is puzzled over the matter. The man at her bedside regards him, and the two exchange words, but Hiram Sharkam is unable to influence the doctor to do his bidding, and in a fit of pique, the creature strikes the doctor with a killing attack [Touch of Death, flip 2 Tokens Light, inflicting a Serious Injury, -20 to STA]. Jason goes unconscious.
Carole LaFlamme and her husband, Karl, open the bookstore for the morning, but she receives a call from Alexandra about what she and Jennifer have learned this morning. Carole remembers that Jason told her the night before about an Amy Schuyler; she's at the Ottawa General Hospital even as they speak! Alexandra quickly decides to head out to the hospital, and see what she can find out from Jason, and perhaps try and see Amy Schuyler. Carole decides to meet Alexandra at the hospital, but Jennifer says that she has to get to a late morning course. She asks that they keep her informed of what happens at the hospital.
Constable Andrew Harkness comes in to the precinct to start another day's work, and gets called into his boss's office. He learns that he's received approval for his application to try and qualify for Detective rank, though he says that Harkness will have to study up for it before he's ready to take the test. Andrew gets back out on the streets with his partner, Eddie, and he tells Eddie about what's happened. Eddie's happy for him, but not pleased that he's going to lose his partner. They chat a bit more about the possibility, but then get called to a domestic disturbance matter down in the Glebe.
Alexandra and Carole meet up at the Ottawa General Hospital to find the place in a bit of an uproar. They learn that one of the doctors, Jason Harris, has been injured in some sort of incident. Before either of them can make head or tail of that, Alexandra spots the figure of Hiram Sharkam and he's with a woman who looks remarkably like Amy Schuyler - but she looks pretty good for a woman who was supposedly aged! The two women decide to split up, Carole to track down Hiram Sharkam, and Alexandra to find out what's happened to Jason. Alexandra convinces one of the other doctors whom she recognises to tell her what he knows, and he tells her that Jason is up in Geriatrics. She's worried that he may have aged, and heads for the Geriatrics department.
Inside the hospital, Alexandra enters the Geriatric ward, and finds that Jason Harris is all right, if a bit shaken. After he shoos out most of the staff present, Jason tells Alexandra what happened to him, and she says he's lucky that he escaped with his life. He tells her that he did, barely, and that he used his Restorative Art on himself [turned a Token Dark, and expended 10 WPR to heal the wound inflicted by the creature.] He tells Alexandra where the room is that Amy Schuyler occupied, and she goes there. There's nothing there to check out and see, as the room is being prepared for another patient. She return to check on Jason, and he's feeling better, though still a little shook up. The two talk some more, and she realises that Hiram may be more powerful than the envoys may have expected them to be. She asks Jason what he knows of Amy Schuyler.
Carole follows after Hiram Sharkam and Amy Schuyler, and follows them, but when she rounds the corner into the parking lot, she senses they've disappeared. She uses her Art to place a Mental Shield around herself [turns a Token Dark, but Botches the roll, loses 20 WPR, and turns a Token Dark!], and collapses to the ground unconscious. From behind one of the parking lot pillars, Amy Schuyler appears, and looks down at the unconscious envoy, as Hiram Sharkam appears on the other side of the pillar and joins her...
Friday night's game session of the
Chill 3rd Edition RPG campaign was a lot of fun, went pretty smoothly, and saw some neat edge-of-the-seat moments for two of the player characters that made them think they might perish in the line of duty. Fortunately things didn't go that far, and the player envoys are still alive, but the plot of this case for
Chill 3rd Edition is coming to its conclusion, though we'll see if it takes the players another game session or two.
Overall, a rather enjoyable game session of the
Chill 3rd Edition game campaign, and I'm looking forward to next Friday's game session.
