R.I.P. Alan Rickman (1946-2016)
Another sad death to report, this time in the entertainment industry.
Alan Rickman has died of cancer at the age of 69.

Alan Rickman, Harry Potter and Die Hard actor, dies aged 69
While most folks that I know think of Alan Rickman and his roles in the Harry Potter films, Die Hard, and Galaxy Quest, I have fond memories of him as an actor in other roles, where his distinctive looks and voice (not to mention acting talents) made me notice him early on. From his role as Tybalt in the BBC's Shakespeare production of Romeo and Juliet, Vidal in Thérèse Raquin, also from the BBC serial, the painter Ed in The January Man, his magnificent tour de force as Grigori Rasputin in Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny, and several others... Truly a huge loss for the acting community and for the world of theatre as well.

Rest In Peace, Alan Rickman. Thank you for such a wonderful set of performances that we'll always remember you by. You are a man of such talent, wicked charm and stunning screen and stage presence. You'll be sorely missed.
