As a lot of folks know, I'm an avid book reader.
One of my favourite genres is mystery, and I love good historical mysteries. Especially Roman mysteries.
I was perusing the bookshelves at home yesterday, prior to heading for work, as I knew that I'd need a book to take with with me to the dentist's office. My eyes came upon the
SPQR series of books by
John Maddox Roberts, and I realised that I haven't read one of the books in the series in several years. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even remember the series and what it was about, other than the protagonist's name, Decius Caecilius Metellus the Younger, and so I snatched up the first book, SPQR I: The King's Gambit, to take with me for reading material.
I'm about half-way through the book, and have to say I'm really enjoying it. (Again, I think. Or not. Not sure.)
