Had a good Sunday gaming session of character creation for one of the
Atlantis: The Second Age sword & sorcery games I'll be running at
CanGames, but as one of my Friday night gamers told me this morning, I seem to have the worst health-related luck around game conventions.
While packing up the gaming stuff yesterday afternoon, I cracked my toe on one of the legs of the dining table because the chair had not been put back into the table properly, and felt the pain immediately. After the gamers left for the day, I put some ice on the toe, and rested the foot for most of the evening. However, the pain had gotten to a significantly bad degree by around 8:00 pm, so I decided to err on the side of caution.
I went to the hospital late last night, and they X-rayed the toe and said they'd get the results to my diabetes doctor as soon as possible. Well, at 10:00 am this morning, I heard back. I broke the pinkie toe on my left foot. Not badly, but definitely broken. Dammit! :(
So as per the usual drill, I've taped my pinkie to the toes next to it, and am once again walking around (or should I say hobbling?) in a good deal of pain. (Probably has a lot to do with my pain threshold, or lack thereof.) Add to the mess the fact that it's the same (left) foot that I've got problems with the ankle and all, and well... let's just say I'm not a happy or comofortable camper, if you know what I'm saying.
Meanwhile, back to work.
