Doctor Appointment Results

Oct 16, 2013 16:11

Just back home from the doctor's office.

The appointment was actually the regularly scheduled one after the last batch of PSA tests. That said, I also introduced the business with my leg to him as well.

In terms of the PSA test, the test results were lower than they had been on the previous test, so once more, there's no real concerns about the prostate and stuff, although he did do a DRE just to give it a hands-on check once more. (Yewwwww! That sounds worse than it looks when written down!)

When I showed the doctor my swollen, extremely hurting ankle, he examined it thoroughly (inflicting more pain, of course), though he didn't say anything right away. He said that it might be a turned ankle, badly sprained, maybe I'd knocked it hard on something, that it might be diabetic neuropathy in the ankle (though that last isn't likely, as nothing I've seen about neuropathy would lead to any swelling of the joint), or that it might be severe arthritis. No matter the case, he said that treating it with ice and Tylenol was best, and that I should be careful how I walk on it. Nothing new on this front.

I was mildly annoyed about something else, however. I was hoping to get my yearly flu shot while at the doctor's for the appointment, but needless to say, guess which day of the week the nurse wasn't in to administer the flu shot? If you said "Wednesday" you guessed right. Nuts!
