Start of a New Week

Jul 08, 2013 08:11

Woke up this morning somewhat tired and a bit overwrought, no doubt due to the sheer amount of sugar I ingested yesterday (between the croissant for breakfast, the black forest cake, and the creamy mashed potatoes with supper, but I'm getting ahead of myself here).

I'm working from home today, as the folks from Sears are sending out a service man or two to fix the new stove that I have. One of the burner elements isn't heating properly and the stove needs to be levelled off and stuff. He or they will show up sometime between 8 am and 5 pm, so I have to take the day and work at home, even though the repairs will likely only take some 10 to 15 minutes (or so the service centre informed me).

Last night's meal with spross at Dunn's Famous Deli was pretty good. SteveR and I split a salad (though he seemed to have some problems trying to eat the salad, but I'll let him tell that story either here in the Comments or on his own blog). The main meal consisted of an 8 oz. New York sirloin steak, creamy mashed potatoes with the skins and onions, and cooked peas. Lovely meal for the most part, but the steak was a bit dry and gristly (I had it cooked medium well). That said, it was an excellent meal. After I got home and blogged last night's entry, I had a quarter of a Granny Smith apple for dessert. Lovely.

In the meantime, I spoke to Kathy last night, and she told me that this evening we'll be going to the RBC Royal Bank Ottawa Bluesfest this evening, to see Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. I'm so hyped about this, as Grace and her band are one of my favourite modern bands (at least those from the current period of the mid-2000s onward), so I'm really looking forward to this.

But for now, back to working on office stuff.

work, music hut, house, home, grace potter, personal, food hut, stove, dunn's famous deli, ottawa bluesfest, office
