i was playing basketball over at clark, it was 4 on 4 and we had won the first game. The second game was a bloody mess of bodies crashing in towards the hoop. Iv never played with people who were so intent on winning. The second game was tied at 5's, at about that point I looked at my hand and noticed a steady flow of of blood, no worries I thought to myself, it just made me play harder. So game point, and we are up by two, I drive in and the guy elbows me in the face. I start yelling at him, but I am able to calm myself rather quickly. We check the ball out again and I call for the ball, I get it and drive in and accidentally my fist happens to hit the guy who elbowed me in the face. I look down at my fist, because it hurt and I see more blood than before. I look up and the defenders nose is bleeding. He cant say much because he caused it, so he calls foul and takes the ball. at this point its almost as if we are playing one on one and the other guys are just spectators. I check the ball to him and get low to guard, he drives right into me, making no attempt to avoid me whatsoever, he knocks me over and makes the bucket. I call a charging foul. He gets all up in my face and starts yelling that offence calls the fouls. I told him that he charged me, than he said I was moving or some bullshit, which was true, but at this point I was far to stubborn to give in, so we decided to shoot for it, it this point the both of us were fucking pissed at the other, bruised, sweaty, and bloody, neither of us was about to give in to the other. He made the shot, at which point I smiled at him and said you win, I shook his hand, at which point he looked down and saw all the blood, he looked up at me astonished, “youv been playing with a busted up hand?” he asked.“ its not so bad” I said, “half the blood is yours.” he wiped his nose and threw the blood to the ground. I turned my back and started to walk away when he yelled at me, “hey kid, you really need to practice your lay ups, and don’t let your team score all the points for you.” it was a good night.
