First of all: It was totally surreal to watch a WW ep after all this time. I think it's been about...2 years?...since I watched this show. One of my very best friends has stuck with it faithfully, and she's periodically updated me on what's been going on, but I didn't remember a lot of it when I started watching. I'm pretty out of the loop, really. Seeing Ron Silver as Bruno Gianelli was a blast from the past, wasn't it? And seeing that flash of Leo's face in the opening scene made me want to cry.
Secondly: I only got to see about half of the ep. Why is that? Because it's March in Oklahoma, and that means thunderstorms and tornado warnings, and that means the weathermen interrupting to grandstand with diagrams and charts and weather patterns, as if we are all too illiterate to read the scrawl that's been going on the past hour. My NBC affiliate busted in about five minutes into every scene, went on for another three or four minutes about the weather, and then went right to commercials, instead of back to the program.
Not that I am bitter.
mcsister, was your affiliate pulling that crap too?
Luckily, Bravo is re-running the ep tomorrow night. So I'll watch it then. In the meantime...Wow. Josh and Donna look every bit as good making out as I'd always imagined. Please tell me we will get some sort of pay-off for all this waiting.
Please also tell me there will be good post-ep fic to come. If anyone finds any good stuff, please share!
I was pretty confused through most of this ep. It's like when I caught my first ep, And It's Surely To Their Credit, and was thoroughly perplexed through the entire thing. It felt like I was watching the show for the first time. There was a lot of subtext I'm sure I wasn't getting. But at the same time, it was like deja vu all over again. I know it's long past its heyday, but I still got that same rush I used to get when I heard the opening credits. Damn, I miss this show.
I don't have much else to share. Missing half the show is very frustrating. I will say, though, that I did a total fangirl squee when they showed Sam coming back. My heart did somersaults all over the place. I love Sam. I am beyond excited to see him again.
And Joey and Danny and everyone else, too.

And, belatedly,
Well. Knock me over with a feather--I was actually rooting for Santino. Not that I would have been displeased if Daniel or Chloe had won. But quite honestly, I was not much impressed with Daniel's collection. There were a few nice pieces, and it was well-made, but it left me with an overall feeling of, "Meh." Chloe's, I liked much better. Some really lovely pieces. But Santino's? Loved it. I get the whole thing about it being poorly-fitted, but I didn't even notice that till they pointed it out. (This is probably why I'm not an industry expert.) I thought the majority of it was gorgeous and really interesting.
Having said that, yay for Chloe. I was really pleased for her, and she definitely deserved it. But I wasn't as wowed by any of the final three as I was by Jay and Kara Saun last year.
Bring on season 3!
