Oy vey....
I am a complete and utter idget... Yesterday, I left my headlights on while in class. As expected, when I came back out, my battery was completely dead. I could have sworn I had jumper cables in that car as well. In fact, I distinctly remember buying cables specifically for this car last summer. Apparently, someone took them out at some point. To the credit of the other students, at least 4 people offered to give me a jump start if I had cables they could use. It was very nice of them to offer.
I called campus security and let them know what was happening. There's a service the school provides for such situations where they'll send someone over to jumpstart your car at no charge. What I didn't know was they apparently call an outside towing company (?!) to come over and jumpstart the car for free. Um, yeah. A towing company coming to a school for a jumpstart at no cost? I didn't see that happening. And I was right. After 2 hours of waiting, no one showed up. I finally had to call my mom to come help, which made me feel like such a bastard. She was sick and couldn't even go to the supermarket for food. I was going to go after class.
So yeah, got the car jumped, drove home fine. I just kinda hit the couch after I got home and fell asleep until... 2am. Heh. Slept all during that class that morning, too, since the teacher just went on a 3 hour rant about autopsies and cremations and this other stuff that had nothing to do with the class. Wasn't even anything interesting concerning the subjects... Man, what a waste.
