First of all can I just say FUCK STREP THROAT!?!? Damn yo, I haven't caught this shit in almost 4 years. GTFO! Although, today my throat is better enough that I can chug down water without wanting to cry afterward, so that's good. I took a few shots of Jager last night in hopes it would help. (You know, 27 herbs and all that goodness). And looks like it did! I'm telling you, just because it's a liqueur, doesn't mean it can't be good for you in certain situations, lmao. I completely forgot how strong that shit is though man.
At least it's getting better. That's all that matters. I had to skip out on my climbing on Wednesday over it. Asshole. I *might* go tonight, but I may instead just stay in and get some more rest before work tomorrow. We'll see how I feel.
I *was* supposed to go get some new climbing shoes yesterday, but work decided they didn't want to pay me for my vacation week. wtf is wrong with this company? the damn payroll can't do ANYTHING right. That vacation week was booked MONTHS ago and I even made sure to remind them that I was only taking TWO weeks of sick time, NOT THREE. Week three was my VACATION WEEK. I guess most of these people don't have any English comprehension either. Ugh. Though, it works out a little bit because I'll get TWO paycheques next week which means I can buy a new laptop... oh, I didn't tell you THAT little story yet, did I?
Last week, Wednesday, I go out with the gang for a bit, leave my brand-new month and a half old laptop on the table in the dining room next to Raven's. NBD. I come home, open up the screen to log on, and I notice that there's an imprint of the keyboard in CONDENSATION on the screen. Wtf? thinking nothing of it, I just wipe it off and hit the power button. Not turning on. Wtf. Check the plug to make sure it didn't unplug and die on me, everything's fine. Ugh whatever, I'll just reset the battery. Not do I lift up the laptop and IT'S SITTING IN AN INCH OF WATER. There is literally water POURING OUT OF THE FUCKING LAPTOP.
I immediately rip the power source out, yank out the battery and tip the laptop on its side to drain out any excess water and I wipe up everything else. But I knew it was fucking dead. There was only a faint hope that I could let it dry for a few days and pray nothing was severely damaged. I was going to the trailer with Brad & Jen the next day until Sunday anyway, so I figured I'd let it sit until I got home and I'd try it again.
I did try it when I got back, and the little blue light turns on for the power, but the fans don't start running and the light for the hard drive doesn't turn on. So the answer to that is pretty damn obvious. I'm just cutting my losses and getting a new one. I may ship this one out to HP anyway just to see if they'll be nice and repair it but we all know what companies say about water damage, lol. No warranty covers that shit.
Mom suggested that the baby was probably trying to pull something off the table and knocked water over. Which is fine and dandy but goddamnit, watch your kid! Of course it isn't something cheap she destroys, it has to be one of my most expensive electronics! I hadn't even began paying mom back for it yet.... so now I'm shit out of $450, plus the cash I now have to shell out for a new one. Ugh. I'm trying not to be too pissed off about it now though... at least it was only $450, and not a $2,000 computer, right? At least Best Buy has the same one on for the same price....
Back to the subject of work.
I got bumped again.
So I'm going to store #401 which is at Bathurst and Sheppard!
The perks of this?
Well, I get the hell out of #63 and that psycho environment that is. Sure, now I have to commute, but it's only about 40 minutes AND I'm going the OPPOSITE direction of rush hour traffic! It's a short bus ride from where I want to move to, AND THERE'S A FRIGGIN' WIMPY'S RIGHT IN THE SAME LOT. Which may not be such a good idea though, I think I'll end up spending half my pay there ahahahaha. Oh how I love Wimpy's.
From what Kelvin tells me, we work in the basement in a COOLER! Basically, whenever a customer needs something, they go to the customer service desk and they'll page us. Which is great, because we don't have to deal with fucking retards that ask us questions about everything in the store - they're only going to bother us with actual bakery questions! Haha.
Apparently the bakery manager is very organized which is going to be WEIRD, ahahahaha. I'm so used to scatterbrain-Patty it'll be weird being organized, ahaha. It's all good. I'm kind of excited to get a new start.
I had the choice to either go there, or drop back down to part-time at ANY store I wanted... which meant I could have gone back to #62... but who knows when another full-time position will pop up, and at which store. I took this option because in the long run it's what's going to work out the best. Score!
Also: LAURA PICKED US UP TICKETS TO THE EVANESCENCE SHOW IN OCTOBER! OH MAN I'M SO STOKED!!!!!! I'm hoping the album leaks soon, hahahahaha.
