Did you know that the working title for Other Lives and Dimensions, the last in the Ghost Frank series, was '3x for the holy ghost'? And that, in the Detective's Secret, the flowers Gerard marks in his greenhouse book are in fact a secret message to Frank? I even wrote out the message....somewhere. The secret language of flowers, guys, always close to my heart.

This post brought to you by my poor decision to try to organize my google docs folders, which inevitably ends with me poking around in dusty works in progress which then leads to backreading the old arma angelus blog....

Also, I will not deconstruct the lyrics to 'What a Catch, Donnie' to argue that the speaker is a post-post-modern unreliable narrator. Nor will I analyze "I'm the one who charmed the one who gave up on you" to prove that it is as full of meta duplicity as it is literal duplication. (It's the classic Wentzian self-referential criticism delivered through a narrator that is both the usual deliverer of the message (Patrick) but also doubly the messenger - the singer singing a song about himself written by someone else - and therefore twice removed from the (self-)criticism aimed at the "you" in the song, who is - and here we come to my point - the writer in the first place.)

You guys, that lesson we learned here: don't let me listen to Folie a Deux without proper supervision. Also, I need some soup.
