One thing that's a really challenge for me is giving myself credit for the progress I make, the goals I accomplish, the things I do that are hard to do and I do them anyway. I figure I'm not alone in this, and it's Saturday and I'm stuck behind a giant pile of uncataloged magazines, so, let's celebrate ourselves and one another.
Comment with something for which you really ought to be giving yourself credit. Anything, big or small, emotional or tangible, whatever it is that you'd normally brush off to the side with a "well it wasn't that big of a deal" or my personal favorite "but there are all these other things that you DIDN'T do." Now is not that time for those silly voices! Now is the time for taking credit for your awesomeness.
Here, I'll go first:
I wrote 13,000 words in three weeks. The hard stuff, too, all scenes in this project that I've been avoiding. And I keep trying to downplay it in my own head, telling myself it's really not that much and I've written way more in that amount of time before, and that I still have some major hurdles in the story to get past, but, FUCK ALL THAT, ok? I WROTE A TON OF AWESOME WORDS AND THIS STORY IS TURNING OUT TO BE HOT HOT STUFF. So, go me! YEAH!
Your turn!
