pennyplainknits recorded a podfic of Spin the Wheel of the Year (Close Your Eyes and Point), the 'Pete has a no-good very-bad day' story from the Vampire Detective Agency universe. It's astounding to hear her read this universe - the voice she gives the characters, and the life she brings to the ridiculous pamphlets especially - never ceases to inspire me. You have to go and listen and tell her how awesome she is.
It's supposed to start snowing something ridiculous during my evening shift, but I'm going to try to leave a little early to see if I can outrun it and make it home and under the covers before there's any real accumulation. I can only daydream of some insane amount of snow making the roads in town impassable and thus stranding me at home for a day (though somehow that occurring without any loss of power seems unlikely, and, I'd really prefer the heat on.) Anyway, next year, remind me to take the days between Christmas and New Years off, because there is just no need to be productive at anything other than stories and possibly cooking this time of year.
