What it is

You guys, this weekend I had to dust my chickens and all of their roost and play areas with something called diatomaceous earth, which is, it turns out, also a stabilizing agent in dynamite. I don't know what to say beyond that.

Since base parts of explosives weren't enough for one weekend, we also had to spray under the chickens' feathers with coconut oil. If you've ever worked with coconut oil, then you know you need to liquefy it first by sumbmerging the jar in warm water, then pouring that liguid into a spray bottle, and someone has to hold the chicken who, surprise, does not really enjoy being sprayed with coconut oil especially after being dusted with things that can also be used in DYNAMITE, and I don't know, it was rough. We followed that fun-fest of animal ownership with an obligatory visit to family a couple of hours away, and thus the weekend knocked me down hard.

Things I love, this morning edition:

-the new Green Day single
-Justin's chocolate hazelnut butter
-Starbucks Refreshers (seriously, made of addictive deliciousness)
-pattypan squash
-Black Widow
-Teen Wolf (some day soon, when I'm not barely conscious, I will tell you all about my FEELINGS for this show, and there are plenty of feelings.)

Finally, a story from (and of) this weekend:

Late Sunday afternoon on our drive back from family visiting, K and I were both exhausted-approaching-hysterical. I turned to K, who was driving, and said: "I wish we had bees. Then I could ask them how their day was. And do you know what they'd say?"

K answered, "No, what would they say?"

"Bzzzz."

Bzzzz, for real, I'm just saying.
