"How's the helicarrier?" "Still sinking, sir."

Most of last week has been and most of this week will be swallowed up by work. My library has changed ILS software, we had some less than appropriately skilled people running the show, and right now we're suffering for it. Switching interfaces is definitely enough of a challenge for our staff, but the functions that aren't working the way we were promised they would is making the transition rockier than rocky road fudge. (Mmmm, fudge.) I can't wait for my library job to go back to being calm and quirky with a side of no one will ever understand ebooks.

Possibly in an attempt to make myself feel better through schadenfreude, I've been watching Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, which is quite excellent, though, lots of bad things do happen to the Avengers. The series has a great sense of humor, and takes its time introducing each of the character's origin stories before bringing them together as a team. This version's Tony Stark is clearly RDJ-inspired (the voice actor does an awesome job with mimicking his speech patterns, I'm just saying); JARVIS is an AI like in the Iron Man movieverse; there are a bunch of extremely silly bad guys (that the characters make fun of as much as they battle); SHIELD is questionably trustworthy; and basically, it's a great thing to watch if you want more of the Avengers. However, if you're a devoted fan of Clint and Natasha, you should know before going in that Black Widow is a double agent, right from the start of the series, and she betrays Clint pretty hardcore. It makes for a great story, but it's worth pointing out because if you're expecting ScarJo-style snark, you'll be disappointed.

ataratah wanted to know more about the Hulk's backstory since Ruffalo (or as I prefer to call him, Fluffalo,) was so awesome in The Avengers, and so we watched the Edward Norton Incredible Hulk movie this weekend. I warned her it would be terrible, and I hadn't really remember most of what happened, but, wow, was it terrible. We decided that the only way to get through the movie was to pretend that it was the docu-drama story of Fluffalo's Hulk, who was being portrayed by Edward Norton. And then throughout the movie, we narrated the conversations the Avengers might have had while watching the docu-drama for the Avengers Mansion Movie Night.

Ok, I'm going to go make some coffee, search Tumblr for pictures of Jeremy Renner's arms, and try not to have a rage blackout over the fact that title searches in the catalog no longer bring up title results, and that advanced keyword searches produce blank screens. Why.
