Monday and Tuesday were NIGHTMARES at work but this morning I went in late and so had free time to walk around the yard, work on stories, pet kitties, and just sit quietly. It's amazing what a difference going in late on Wednesdays can make (at least when I'm not having to use Wednesday mornings as appointments for service work for the house.)
This weekend was a triumph of accomplishment. I got up early, picked up samples for cake tasting, ate a honey glazed donut and coffee at the bakery, managed complicated farm stand math to buy both rhubarb and asparagus with cash and a locked honor system box, bought a hanging plant with bright pink flowers, finally ate the cake samples after being instructed in the science of butter cream frosting, cleaned everything, made mac and cheese, drank wine on the porch, took a bike ride down a Rivendell-esque sidestreet that was full of fog, rescued frogs from the middle of the road, watched The X-Files during laundry folding, saw a heron at the neighbor's pond, made blueberry muffins, cleaned the carpets, helped mowed our (why is it so) huge lawn, made old lady noises at the end of Sunday when I finally sat down, watched Buffy and went to bed before 9.
I keep meaning to talk about the Castle season finale
but I really need to see the episode again, because I spent so much of it being shocked and surprised and shouting at the show for going all H:LOTS on me. In the meantime, I am not at all thinking about writing a Castle/Firefly crossover.
I don't follow TAI the way I follow MCR, but to all of you in that fandom, my heart goes out to you during this change. From what I've read of their twitters, those fucking guys are A+ amazing.
Now I am going for a walk on my dinner break because it is gloriously sunny and warm, and if I'm not careful, I might not remember to come back to work.
