Enchanting the chaos

So I spent most of the morning beset by a failure-at-adulthood meltdown. Money is hard, staying on top of things is hard, making decisions is hard. I made a pot of coffee and a giant pan of peanut butter marbled brownies with chocolate frosting this afternoon as the fourth baked-goods-based attempt to distract myself from the feeling that I will never get anything right. It's not a perfect redirection, but it is delicious.

Yesterday, the delightful tuesdaysgone came to visit, and she has the magic touch with Grant Morrison, so I was finally able to watch the documentary, which was as bizarre and fascinating as I'd been lead to believe. I even dragged
ataratah into the chaos magic, we all came to the conclusion that it's possible that Grant Morrison created Gerard Way with magic, and also, that if we climbed a mountain and took some mind-altering drugs, we might come back down from the mountain and it would be the future and Gerard would be driving a a flying car with a spider on the hood.

Temperatures were in the balmy mid-thirties and the sun was even out today, so I decided to shovel the deck (which is always the last thing to remain unshoveled after a storm) and to rake the roof of the studio and the shed, and then, while I was out there all booted and bundled up, I decided to take a walk to the back part of the yard. There's a lot of snow. I mean, a lot. It took me maybe 10 minutes to reach the creek, which is usually two minutes away, and since every step was this comical hurdle-leap, I had to stop and catch my breath half way there. Call of the Wild could actually be happening out there in my yard right now, I'm just saying.
